This gallery is a combo of two shoots that seemed to need to be separate from the Nature galleries. First is a series of shots over a few days (cloudy, sunny, sunrise) along a bay in Chincoteague, VA. The last three are cherry blossoms from Washington D.C. It surprised me to discover all these images were taken with an iPhone 7. Usually the images I get from an iPhone have a fuzzyness to them when one zooms in, but these are shockingly sharp and vibrant. These were .JPG files too and not HEIC.[Click to continue]
While this is not a long-worded, breathless ode to the sea and its many moods, it is a gallery of shots I’ve taken over the years along the eastern shore. From peaceful zen afternoons to angry, muddy, windy violence, these are a few shots I’ve picked to represent these coastal moments. is made up of (except for two) “experiments” with otherwise marginal to bad shots. These are a mixture of Pentax KP and iPhone XS Max images that didn’t make the grade so they become lab experiments. A couple, however, were purposefully taken so I could experiment with the heavy clouds and see if I could make ominous clouds look even extra-ominous. I think it’s the last two.
images will continue to grow as I work with color images already on this site in converting them to monochrome where it works. Most of these are iPhone shots with a growing number of Pentax KP created shots.[Click to continue]
